Track Information

So What is the NBL?  The NBL (National Bicycle League) is the sanctioning body.  The NBL sets most of the rules that we use during our races.

What is the Michigan NBL?  This group of elected officials and volunteers hosts the annual state championship series and promotes the sport of BMX in Michigan. Volunteers are always in demand to help run and maintain a track.

What does it cost?  You must join the NBL.  Annual (one full calander year) membership is $45, one month trial Membership is $30, which may be converted to a full membership at any time for an additional $15.  Practice $4, Race $7 (Points only) and $10 (Points and Trophy).

How can I sign up?  You may sign up ay any practice or race.  Just bring a parent and a copy of your birth certificate to be sent to the NBL.

Can I try without joining?  You may ride on a one day only basis during a practice if a parent accompanies you and signs a waiver of liability.

What if I cannot race every time? You may race as often or as seldom as your schedule permits. You may also race at other NBL sanctioned tracks.

Will I be racing Experts?  No..Riders are divided into 3 main classes.  Rookies, Novice, and Experts. The Rookie class is made to help you learn the techniques. When you gain enough experience, you can move up to the next class. Please ask for details about classes and move up points and the track.

Can I get the equipment I need at the Track?  You should bring your own personal equipment and bike.  We do have limited loaners, but we cannot promise they will be available.

What are the Race/Practice time(s)?  Practice is on Thursdays from 6-8pm.  Registration for the races is from 5-6pm with the race starting at 6:30pm or ASAP.  If you want to register for the race but can't make it to the track before 6pm, you can call ahead and make arrangements (see our Contact page).
